today was a short day. went to the Coca Cola Factory to have a little tour and to know more about its history. walking around and looking at the various items that were made in remembrance of certain events or day. It was quite an eye opener as China's factory works differently. (In terms of system and how things is being done). haha! and of course, from the trip, FREE COKE TO DRINK! hahaha! =P
nothing much to talk about.. Let the pictures say all the words.

THE FREE COKE BOTTLE! how I wish Singapore still remained using glass bottles. Hack those gangster fights. haha =P

in front of the HUGE Coca Cola sign! NICE! *winks*
haha! basically that sums the whole day. cause in the noon we met Mr. Tan in class to get our assignment and did small discussions about the assignment. so nothing much to talk about. haha!
REFLECTION OF DAY 12, FRIDAY, 5th SEPTEMBER 2008:
Time: 12:17am
Mixing around with the students from ICT more and more each day, I’m able to build a stronger relationship with each of them. As I spend time talking to them and know more about them, I realize that communication is a really powerful tool that was given to us. With communication, we can easily understand each other and also clear doubts that we have. I’ve learnt to better appreciate the importance of communicating, just like how lecturers always reinforces on the importance of communicating within a group during projects.
Through communication, we are entitled to an opportunity to know a person in depth and also it gives an open door for people to start sharing more personal stuff. With that, today I have encountered two such events where my friends shared something personal about themselves to me,
After sharing and making attempts to help clear misunderstandings, I realize that the lack of communication was the cause of all these misunderstandings. Many of times, people often appear as someone very different from their usual self which causes misunderstanding at first impression. Only through communication, this can be cleared and prevented.
Now in China, I’ll also think that communication is very crucial in clearing certain doubts on their culture so as for us to better adapt to the environment. For example, we see many China citizens speaking loudly when on the streets or in canteen/food area. At first, I was thinking that it is very rude for them to do so as it will affect other customers as well. However, after some communication with some China students on previous interaction activity, I understand that it is a form of letting other party knows that they heard them.
With that, I was able to better adapt myself by first re-tune my mind set on the culture over at China and then to accept it. This will then not only allow me to further enjoy my stay in China, but also to better understand how things are as I will be more open to other culture difference which I will see in future.
Learning in progress: Better communication with people around me/observe/learning to be aware, accept and adapt
