BBQ.. here I come!!
Day 17Morning did nothing much except to try and complete more of the assignment so that it can be handed up soon. Like before we head for the cruise tour on Friday. Else we will have to rush it when we come back on Sunday which is a NO-NO to me! haha!
Relax a little in the afternoon by taking s power nap and went out to stock up some tidbits in the apartment. They are running low and I'm not the one who eat them. Although most of the time I'm paying it. haha! =P anyway, manage to have a meal with Mr. Tan and find that he's actually a nice guy. Takes care of his people and care for them. =) but a little over worry =P haha! oops! sorry.
went to play abit of Table Tennis before heading down for BBQ which is at the same place as yesterday's OBS activity. Managed to improve table tennis skills and be able to win Zheng wei with more point difference. haha! HE'S SUPER GOOD OK??!! and I've just like learnt it two weeks ago -.-
so off we go to the BBQ area...

this is the outside of the OBS training site which we went to yesterday as well.

well, I did nothing much but trying to be a flasher. haha! I mean to go around and use flash on people la! AIYO! What are you thinking about huh?? haha! anyway, it was pretty fun and I took quite a number of nice and ugly shots. haha!

random shot using flasher mode.

Flasher mode spoof number 1. haha! Guoyuan really look like a KID LEI! haha! =P

Flasher mode spoof number 2. Zheng wei which this super near shot. I think it looks very funny as well. haha!

ok. I used flasher mode and surprise shot, but turn out very nice and steady. haha! introducing Guanbin the Astro boy! haha! the nickname was given by Nic. LOL. he looks very techy.
yeah. so after which, I was literately catching up with the three ladies who I knew from the previous interaction activity. We talked about almost everything under the sun. Eh.. no.. under the moon. haha! both about Singapore and China. it was quite a nice time being able to know them and joke around with them. China people are really a bunch of friendly people who are very welcoming to guests! =) love it! had a fun time talking to them and knowing more about China as well.
Anyway, just to inform people. haha! I've like officially make one of my finger joint quite swollen! haha! it was injured around last Friday and re-injured on Sunday. Then dumb me went to carry heavy stuff and balance ownself using my fingers. So yeah. haha! without the aid of things like sports tape, I had no choice but to best do with the remaining first aid items I've brought along.

this is how it looks like now. haha! UGLY HOR?! haha!
REFLECTION OF DAY 17, WEDNESDAY, 11th SEPTEMBER 2008:Time: 1145pm
Had another interaction activity today. It is a BBQ session together with the China student where we eat and chat. Personally, I felt it was a good way to bond us together as it provides us with a platform for us to gather and be free & easy. We could move about and mix around with different students to know them better. Of course, we took the chance to know more ME guys as well.
I had a conversation with three of the China students and I’ve came to learn more about China and the difference in living standard. We were talking mainly about the difference in pricing and were exchanging thoughts on each other’s country. I felt enlightened as I could better understand how people in Wuhan live. One of the facts I’ve learnt is that people in China’s earning is similar to Singapore in numbers. For example, a poly graduate in Singapore would earn about $1,200 per month where a poly student in Wuhan earns about RMB 1,200 as well. But due to difference in living standard, we might think that they are earning very little. However, to my amaze and the way the students calculated for me, it is actually similar to Singapore! WOW!
Another thing I’ve learnt from today is that one has to be initiative in order to better know a person and to build relation. One example would be me. I was almost isolating myself from the rest at the start of the BBQ session as I was a little bored and felt that I didn’t know a lot of people. However, halfway through, I tried and went to talk to one of the China students which I’ve talked to at the previous meeting. We then continue to talk about other things and exchange thoughts. It was then I realize we were slowly building relation and getting to know each other better. Therefore, initiation of knowing someone extends the meaning that you are sincere in wanting to make friends with them.
Learning in progress: Taking initiative/be more open to people whom I’m not familiar with
