busy week!!
WOW! finally a break from the busy-ness at Trybe! The whole of last week and today were fully packed like can sardine (well, although I don't like eating sardines). The whole of last week was all about planning for the Community Race for the MOE Scholars coming from Malaysia, Philippines and India. It really wasn't an easy job planning for the race especially when we need to plan for SO MANY places!!! although tiring, it was really fun. When its with Dy (Kitratiprasan Kanaphat). haha!
well, saturday and sunday were the two days were we get to meet the scholars and it was just their second and third day in Singapore!!! they were very open to us and also very vocal about their thoughts which I felt was good. This helped alot as we could know what they needed and so, helping them to meet the needs they have.
My Team, Team 3, consist of 2 Indians, 1 Hong Kee (I think they are called this way right?) and 3 Malaysians. They are fun-loving people and were not very shy about sharing their experiences and their thoughts! I remembered during the 2 Truths 1 Lie game, one of them had "I love making naughty jokes" as one of his statements. It was hilarious and the whole team laughed about it!! haha! I think they were just very happy that we were there to befriend and help them. LOL.
Well, I thank the staffs for arranging me with Vivien who was a GREAT HELP to me!! Reason being that I always got called away by the staffs to do things and thus, do not have much time with the team. Vivien really did a wonderful job in getting to know the students and also let them have fun!! And it was my FIRST time teaching the Algorithm March which I learnt it like last month. haha! FUN and INTERESTING is all I can say.. But I know that the scholars loved it as it was something unique and well, cute. haha!
TWO LONG DAYS.. it finally ended.. but it didn't mean I wasn't enjoying myself. I was glad that I had the chance to befriend them and even offer my help to them in times of need. I just hope that they would be able to enjoy their stay in Singapore and be adaptive to the change in living environment + the culture over here. Not forgetting the times we made Poh Piah for dinner and kueh pie-ti (erm, I don't know how to spell them actually. haha)... also the part where we purposely made mistakes so we could take the chance to eat some of them. it was stupid but funny!! haha! well, I hope the rest enjoyed as much as I did cause I felt that it was really worth my time and all th energy that was drained out after the second night. =)
well, went to Hwa Chong Service Learning today. They are an interesting batch of people where they are open after getting to know us more.. I couldn't say much about them as I didn't have much conversations with them.. oh! one thing i remembered.... when Jas, Yeong Hui, Shei and I were having lunch at pool side... I remembered what my friend told me about the school's water polo team since the team was training over there... it was hilarious and I shall not share it over here.. its damn bad... seriously.. haha! =P
anyway, one thing.. no.. two things to complain about the school is that it is
SUPER DUPER BIG LA! and also THERE ARE TOOOOOOOOOO MANY STAIRS!!!!! PEOPLE WILL DIE GETTING LOST INSIDE AND BEING LATE FOR CLASSES DUE TO THE COMPLEX LAYOUT AND MANY STAIRS AROUND!!!! RAH!!!yeah.. that's all!! haha! =)
