Today is 2nd October 2008 and the time now is 11:40pm. Here I am, blogging while having the feeling to sleep soon. haha!
DAY 39
Woke up in the morning to go to 中山公园 to meet Yang Ting (one of my IS classmates for semester 1.1 and Jacob/Cheng Teck/Zheng Wei's classmate) as she volunteered to bring us out to have fun! She told us there will be a roller coaster ride which was my main point of going in the first place. haha!
We took the 面包车 (which is the cab but a van) to 中山公园. YJ joined in as she is going to the airport near there to fly back to Hangzhou to return home. Had some chats with her on the van and had some fun taking photos. I really appreciate YJ for bringing us around the past few weeks and introducing us to different places. What I like the most is 群光. so since she will be at Hangzhou till the day we leave, I will have to bid goodbye to here over here right now. haha!
We even had some fun laughing at guo yuan for his new fashion sense. Discover the joke yourself!!!
To YJ: thanks for bringing us around and I am really glad to have known you. Lets chat more in MSN often ok?? haha! =)
in the 面包车 and the three musketeers were sleeping soundly!! haha!
reached the park at around 1030am as the driver made a small detour for he had forgotten how to reach the park. haha! but nevertheless, we still reached safe and soundly. Met up with Yang Ting and a friend of her's then we proceeded to head into the park. Was walking through and saw many things. People singing, some performances, people selling items, push-carts, REAL people drawing services, etc. We even saw this water thing whereby people will be inside a cylinder like rubber float and walk inside!! but too bad it is only for KIDS. -.- SIAN 0.5!! haha!
the water rubber cylinder!!
oh! this is what YJ told me. She said this is the most popular brand of cigarettes in China. haha! and the bag was given to her by her mum -.-
when we walked further in, we saw this FUNNY sight that was presented to us. haha! see for yourself. I don't have to explain much.
well, we walked further in and saw the theme park area. IT IS REALLY BIG i say. I mean there were many games and there's only ONE that attracted us, the ROLLER COASTER. haha!
and here is a video on part of the roller coaster ride!
after Jacob went to send YJ off at the exit, Jacob and I queued up to take the roller coaster ride. The queue is seriously S.U.P.E.R L.O.N.G!! haha! We queued for around an hour to get to our turn! ZW and gang had already finished theirs as they went before us. haha! during the queuing time, we happen to know this 3 cute ladies who are of age 12 or 13. They are REALLY HIGH I especially (in the picture) the middle and right girl. they were hilarious and very animated. SERIOUS! Jacob and I were saying, "They are really fun and loud-spoken". haha! well, it somehow killed LOTS of time during the queue as we don't felt like an hour has passed. They lived around 15minutes bus ride away from the park and they met up with each other to come out and play!! So CUTE!! haha! and the best part is that they know each other (AND being in the same class) for only ONE MONTH!! GOSH! people in China really can build relation FAST!
The three little ladies who entertained our way through the queuing session! They were looking for games in Jacob's handphone as it is all English. The process was very hilarious as well. haha!
so our turn finally came. Jacob and I sat the the almost middle area of the coaster. We even planned to video down our expressions through out the ride. haha! I would say we would look rather stupid and the shouting is a little irritating. haha! nevertheless, ENJOY THE VIDEO!!
after the roller coaster ride, we took two more rides which were quite nice. Although I still liked the roller coaster, the other two rides were so-so as they do not really involve alot of heart-pumping things. haha!

GOING UP! VOOM!!
went over to a plaza to eat our lunch after the park. We decided to eat at this western food restaurant and even had a room to us!! haha! of course we chaos a little inside but not that bad. The food was pretty good especially my SHORT RIB which is like 60% cooked *slurps*. and the price is CHEAP! SERIOUS!! the total bill came about 500RMB with ALL THE FOOD (which you will see soon)that we ordered!!

the squid which I ordered
LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF FOOD WE ORDERED!! IT IS ONLY 500RMB!!!!!!!!
paid for the bills and left. sending Yang ting and her friend off as they are going to their relative's house. we went to another plaza called 武汉广场 to shop around. Looked at many items but can't buy. Or more like refraining myself to buy. haha! and we went to arcade!! we saw this little girl playing the horse riding game which made Jacob and I LAUGH OUT SUPER LOUDLY!! haha! look at the video and you will know why. hahahhahahahhahahahahahahaha!
haha! hanged around abit more before heading back to the school.
Something happened along the way of going back which I shan't elaborate about. If interested, you can tag and i will see how I can tell you. Anyway, it is unpleasant event.. so yea.. ask at your own risk!
but I was rather disappointed about myself about this event as I wasn't able to keep my cool. Flared up (ok. i think this is the first or second time of the year) in front of the guys. Hopefully they are not very affected. And also, I broke two of my personal rules.. Sighs. oh well. have to reflect about it and guess that's what makes people stronger yea? Need feedback on such behaviour.
OH WELL. DON'T TALK ABOUT IT ANYMORE! SO SPOILER TO THE POST! HAHA!
so we went to eat at the fried rice stall and went to help Joyce look for the fireworks which they are planning to use for Lina's birthday tomorrow. haha! Hope that you girls' plans will go smoothly tomorrow!! Sorry that I can't join as I have a date with a lady boss!! =)
we saw this shooting balloon stall along the way to the pool shop which we played before. Jacob, Sheng Kiat and I went to try. 2RMB for 30shots!! (those BB bullets which were ALREADY banned in Singapore for donkey years) CHEAP sia!! haha! so we shoot until happy already and went ahead to the pool shop. Played a few rounds which lasted about an hour before heading back. It was quite a good time to relax myself and to think about things. Really greatful for these two people who accompanied me in one way or another. =) THANKS GUYS!
back at dorm. SUPER TIRED. haha!
Some photos for entertainment.. =)
REFLECTION OF DAY 39, THURSDAY, 2nd OCTOBER 2008:
Time: 12:31am
This is one thing that I have observed since the start of week one till now. Reason being deciding to write now is because I wanted to confirm the practice among the shop keepers.
The thing which I observed for the past 6weeks is that the shop keepers will always ask if customers have exact change. Meaning if I were to purchase an item that cost 6RMB and I gave 10RMB, they would ask if I have another dollar so that they can return 5RMB note instead of four 1RMB coins. Another example would be if the purchase has cents at the back, they would usually ask if we have that exact amount. Like 9.40RMB, they would ask if we have 40cents.
I feel that it is one indirect way of providing convenience to their customers and being thoughtful. I mean, who wants to carry loads of coins walking around which is SUPER heavy!! This small little act proves how the shop keepers think for their customers and that they would want their customers to go away with great experience in the shop.
Although the actual meaning behind the act is unknown, but I feel that many others would have felt the same way as I did when given deep thought about this. This little act is something I felt Singaporeans should adopt so that we can also provide customers with a better shopping experience.
