Visit and fun!
Day 24Morning had PM lesson where we did a presentation on an activity which helps us to better understand the next few topics we will be taught. It acts as an opening activity to prepare us for the following few lessons. Anyway, 5 more lessons of PM and POOF! We are done! haha! So today was Jacob's turn to do the presentation as the part that he took was chosen due to time constraint. I thought he did a pretty good job for his presentation. Just need a little more practice. That's all. =)

preparing for the presentation

oops. Forgot a little about the content. =X

come on! listen to me! haha! =P
and yeah. lesson ended half an hour earlier which is good! went out for lunch with sheng kiat and Jacob. Had a nice time talking and knowing each other more through some sharing of thoughts here and there. We do this more often man! it really helps improve communication and building better relationship with each other! =) and after lunch, we bought KFC back for the remaining three lazy bugs to eat. haha!
met at 220pm to go to 光谷 to visit an IT industry. Was joined with a group of students from other school which I forgot to ask. the trip was pretty good I guess. open my eyes through all the information given and also the sight seeing.

the street area. It is very nice. like some shopping district.

another high rise building. this is a business building.

here is the evidence! the floor map.

let me explain this. The guy in white was standing so close to Jacob that Jacob was trying to be gay by ahem ahem-ing that guy. haha! SUPER DUMB!
alright. so we met the 总经理 and the sales executive where they explain things for us. providing us with information as well. Here is a rough information about this company.
It is produces digital equipments and hardware
It started since 1993 selling things like MP3.
They change to digital products at 1998.
At 2002, they start to research more on digital production.
They use two methods to overcome language barrier as they are going international. One is to train, another is to employ foreigners.
There's one overall in-charge in each time zone area.
Every 3rd Saturday of each month is reserved for each department to do individual training for the staffs.
Interesting right? haha! Especially the last part. I think this is to make sure their employees are constantly on the run in learning, which is GOOD! BAGUS! =D

listening to the sales executive.

the certs which the company got. There's even more!

One of the machines they used.
So the trip ended at around 5pm and we headed back. Was a short trip yet interesting one. And now, preparing for tomorrow's lesson. haha!
REFLECTION OF DAY 24, WEDNESDAY, 17th SEPTEMBER 2008:Time: 7:45pm
Went to guang gu 光谷 today for an IT industry visit. It is a place where they call it the business street as many foreigners or even locals who went overbroad would come and set up a business over there. So basically it is a place that is filled with entrepreneurs. From the visit to the IT industry called Green Cyber 绿康 where they produce digital camera equipments.
The interesting thing about this company is that they invented most of their own software and hardware. This makes them slightly advantageous as they have products which cannot be copied. Knowing about the company’s history, I think the boss of the company is really adventurous.
From today’s trip, I’m more inspired to want to start my own business as I feel that with the right knowledge and contacts, one can really start off a business and venture out. Be it big or small, a business still require ones commitment and effort. I’ve also get to know that so long u have enough capital for you to sustain for 6months, you can actually start a business in China. Of course legal documents such as proper licenses are also needed.
