Realised I haven't put any Chinese titles before. So therefore the Chinese title this time round. haha. -.-
Day 35
Woke up pretty late today as all of us were super tired from waking up early for the past 5weeks. All concussed till we snoozed our alarm for millions of time. At around 11am, we (consist of me, jacob and sheng kiat) decided to go out with yj together. YJ suggested that we go to Qun Guang 群光 there to shop which we agreed to.
met up with YJ at around 130pm at the bus stop across the school and decided to take a cab there as the buses were super squeezy and that we would not be able to board it. Took this Mercedes like cab to Qun Guang. On the way, the driver did many interesting things. Top 2 interesting things are:
1. The driver cut to the opposite lane in order to overtake a car.
2. He drove and cut around along the road.
haha! It was DANGEROUS but quite EXCITING! =)
the driver on the opposite lane. right side is the actual way we should be at.
YJ and Jacob. haha! =P
after reaching, we went to 群光广场's Pizza Hut for "Brunch" (breakfast + Lunch). Seriously, the interior design of the Pizza Hut is MAGNIFICENT and PRETTY! plus the music is WOOHOO! (l Love it as it plays all the nice English songs). Also, there are MANY variety of dishes available. The four of us decided to order a 3-person meal and some sides which we wanna try. Total cost which includes 20% off for most items came up to 309RMB which is SUPER CHEAP! haha! each of us paid less than 20SGD for it man! SUPER WORTH IT and I think some of the food taste better than Singapore's.

the aftermath of us eating...
after eating, we went in to the shopping centre to shop around. bought many things and it was quite a shopping spree for us guys. We were very lucky to have meet many kind and friendly shop keepers who actually make us feel welcome. Especially when we were inside the shop for super long trying things here and there. And ending up buying a few pieces. haha! but I quite enjoyed shopping there.

there's this three guys doing flat rock climbing which was hilarious. I think they were putting up the posters on the wall. haha!
finishing up our shopping in 群光广场, we went to another shopping centre which is beside it. I didn't notice the name so I couldn't say out the name. But it is something like the Far East Plaza in Singapore. selling alot of clothings and food. haha! we went around to continue our shopping trip and even played some games in the arcade. it was quite a trip as we went around looking for many things. This is the place where we got most of our stuff from.

that's me trying out specs and hat. FOR FUN.
Jacob trying out shades. I think he looks funny.

haha! halfway, we got told off for taking pictures inside the shop. so we sort of got turned off and stopped taking photos for a long time. haha! after finishing at the second shopping centre, it was around 8pm already. but we headed on to a shopping street where they sell pretty nice clothing and at a pretty cheap prices!! this is a place where I got my coat/jeans. Sheng kiat's hoodies/shirts/jeans. Jacob's jeans/cap. nice nice nice!!
the night street. super duper nice man!
the shopping street.
while walking to the shopping street, Jacob and I notice this Hair Salon. and the name is called "Yes I Do". haha! very interesting name. we even joked that we can bluff people to say "I Do" to us when we try to propose to that person. LOL.
our shopping trip officially ended at around 10pm and we intended to go back so as to catch a late dinner. However, we decided to go to the KFC which was in sight instead. I assumed the KFC was closing. Therefore, there were little food left. had three pieces of chicken and a cup of iced coffee as dinner. Jacob had the same too. and i sort of compared who eat cleaner. well. that's for you guys to tell me who eats cleaner. haha!
the KFC.
the remains of the chickens. Top is Jacob's and the bottom's mine. WHO EATS CLEANER??!! tag on my tagboard to tell me your answer! =)
haha! after food, we headed to take a cab back at around 1045pm. reached back apartment at around 1105 after dropping YJ opposite her house. Tired day but very fruitful. managed to know alot of things from YJ as well while we were on cab to 群光. I hope look forward to more trips! =)

REFLECTION OF DAY 35, SUNDAY, 28th SEPTEMBER 2008:
Time: 2:06am
Today Jacob, Sheng Kiat and I went to 群光 with a local student called Joyce. She took us around so that we could go and look for items to buy for ourselves. She was of a great help to us ever since week2 or so as she would always share information with us. This has made our trip very easy and also she has taught us quite a lot of things. From today, I viewed China in a different view, and I conclude that people in China are actually not very different from Singaporeans.
One of the few things which I felt was similar to Singapore was their area. They have districts being set-up for shopping mainly and the people over there “behave” just like how Singaporeans does. An example would be that the shop keepers will greet their customers entering and prompting if they need help. Another would be their firmness when they want to do something. Another similarity I found out about their education system is the final thesis which they had to do in their last year of University life. In Singapore, the student would have to come up with their own thesis to write an essay out for their “last paper”. This is so that the students have full freedom in doing research on something that they really want to know and try out.
With that, China actually does not have a lot of differences compared to Singapore. The major difference I feel is about how the government controls the country and certain cultures that they follow. Other than that, we are actually pretty similar. This makes me feel that I’m not very far away from home as I’m at a place where there aren’t major differences from our daily lives.
Overall, today’s trip made me have a different view about China and also allowed to converse more with a local student. Coming here is the RIGHT CHOICE!
Learning in progress: Knowing more about China/getting familiar with surrounding.
