Well, I guess i owe eevryone some updates for the past one week... Was so busy that I was either too tired or too lazy to update.. Here is some updates about the happenings for the past one week which is VERY buys... haha!



Monday - Wednesday (29 - 31 Jan)



Bascially, went down to Trybe centre with Min for these 3 days to help pack and prepare stuff for the upcoming Montfort Camp... Monday went down at 10plus in the morning to help Jasmine to get ready some of the things for the camp.. this includes class cleaning arrangement, seating arrangement, sorting out indemity forms and many other paper work plus logistics... first time being in the logistic and some more for a camp that has 280 students, it's quite a wonderful experience... the things you will need to prepared beforehand is amazingly SCARY!! haha! and I really mean it!! not only the numbers of items you need to prepare is alot, but also the quantity!! well, the other two days we spent time sorting out files and other things for island hunt as well... had fun working with the Trybe staff and also some other people like Jin wei, Li rong and steven who came down to help... they are seriously VERY FUN to be with!! =)



Monfort Camp Day 1 (1 Feb)



Well, got to get up slightly later than the other volunteers and staff involved in the camp cause I had a job from Jasmine, my logistic boss, to go to clementi Sheng Siong to get the remaining goods from them and get it to the Labrador Adventure Campsite... all i could say was getting to contact with the "boss" at Sheng Siong there to ask them do things is very fun!! I mean I felt weird somehow when asking them to do this and do that at the carpark area while they were loading the goods up into a lorry or van... Cause I was OBVIOUSLY 10++ or even 20++ years younger than all of them and I had to order them around.. Lolx... it was just a funny yet wonderful experience... so interesting!!



So got onto the lorry/van with two of the staff there and off we go to Labrador Campsite... reached there in around 30min time and we started unloading the things into the canteen area... Thanks Vege, Henzy, Vivien, Nic, Jia Huey and others whom I don't really remember (cause i was half awake at that time) for all your help to move those heavy things into the canteen.. if not I guess I will break my bones just to move all the things... haha! then went to arrange some of the things in the canteen so that it will not look messy...



The students starts coming in at around 9plus and they had to go up to the hall... the busy time starts with lunch time and there were only me, min and Jasmine to do all the arrangement.. Lolx.. two ladies and one guy, how long did we take to set up?? haha! 45min!!! yeah!! it's considered fast already since we dont really have any idea how to set up as well... haha! oh well, lunch time came and the students came... they eat and eat and eat... their holes on their mouths kept dropping the food... when they left, FOOD WAS ALL AROUND!!



Though there was one group doing area cleaning in the canteen, they did not know exactly how to do cleaning up and thus, making the place dirtier.. Lolx.. I MEAN IT!! then i had to do the cleaning myself which took me 3hrs to complete cleaning the whole canteen... LOlx.. sounds crazy... haha!



Dinner came not long and we had to re-arrange the seating arrangement in the canteen due to some errors during lunch time... thanks to Raffy and Nic, the two muscular men in Trybe who came to gave their legs and arms for me... Lolx.. I mean thank them for helping me to shift the things as well... haha! cause The 3 of us apparently had little idea of what to do with the arrangement... yea... and there was this indian lady staff which irritated me ALOT though she said a few words only... apparently she had sort of came to "help us" but in the wrong manner.. haha! when she said the things that we were going to do, I reply "yes! that was what I was going to do.." then she replied which a sacrastic tone, "Ya ya ya! later I see how you going to do..". At that moment, I felt like $^&^#$$@&@#%&^$##$%^*$#@% her... haha! but luckily I kept my cool and didnt do it... haha! cause I simply HATE it when people does that to me when I'm kind of stressed out... oh well, it's over now.. haha!



Dinner went on and I went off for sentification... the session was wonderful and I could really feel the work being done in me... things happen and I felt that my family was really important to me... somehow I had drew my family closer to me now and I really had the heart to really love them now... yea...



Back to campsite at 11plus.. supper just started and me being the logistic, it meant start work for me!! haha! took charge of giving out hot water for their milo and then having them to sit down in an orderly manner... had a great time seeing the facilitator bonding with their own group, getting to talk to them and know them more... though I'm not one of the students, but I could felt the care and love that the facs were giving to the students... if I'm one of the students, I would definitely be inspired by them and would want to strive better in life in future...



Did some minor cleaning after supper as it wasn't as messy and dirty compared to lunch time... had some help from Min and Jasmine in clearing up and throwing of trash bags... then had a debrief session with Nic in the canteen... the facs shared alot of things that happened in the day, be it positive or negative... even though we thought that the camp may be challenging, but we still see the students as people whom are pure inside and that they are actually people who really needed us to guide them... I suddenly thought at that moment that I did not mind all the hard work that I've put in because I felt this was something that I really wanna do... it just felt wonderful when you see the kids succeed in future and to know that he or she is someone that you have taught before... it's just great!!!



Did packing for island hunt (includes biscuits/poncho) and did some other admin stuff that was required... had time playing and chatting while doing so with the log. team and off we go to bathe at near 4am... haha! officially went into my room to sleep at 420am i guess and the next moment I knew, 6am arrived and I had to wake up... haha!



Montfort Camp Day 2 (2 Feb)



Woke up and went around the school to check for any area that needs to be cleaned... as in I'm checking in advance so I can give more specific instructions to the students for area cleaning later in the morning... Breakfast arrived earlier than expected... had to call and wake Jas up to pay for the nasi lemak while I start moving the food into the canteen... haha! got helped from Jovitha, Min, Jas and Nic to help pack the food according to classes so that it will be an easier job for all the students when they come for breakfast...



Students came and students go... leaving the canteen super messy... area cleaning come and all had to go... to their area that I've assigned them... haha! (sounds so poem like.. Lolx..) that basically sums up the things the students were doing in the morning..



near to noon, they had a briefing for their island hunt while the log team were preparing their lunch... lunch time was very rushing and we had to rush people to eat and to sort of "get rid" of them from canteen area... Lolx... since bus had already arrived, it was up to us to chase them away.. haha! sounds bad, but we had no choice.... yea...



spent time cleaning once again and preparing for the BBQ dinner that will take place in the night... had 9 kind hearted kids to help us as well... they were actually very nice to be with and easy to communicate to... and they helped alot in preparing for the BBQ... THANKS!!!! then we made them be our BBQ committee and they had to go on stage to berief the students on what they need to do later on... haha! their first time on stage and we could see them getting quite nervous... but after some encouragement, they went up and DID A WONDERFUL JOB!!! =) I'm so proud of you guys!!!



BBQ started, Log team gets busy... Facs help BBQ, but no food to eat... Students running about, facs gets busy... BBQ extended, students happy... that's all about the BBQ dinner... then the students went up to have some fun while the facs were being held by me to help do area cleaning at the BBQ area... haha! yea... then Jia Huey, ah pa, Bing yu and me were getting rid of the disposable BBQ pits... we had to take out the wire gauze to clear the charcoal like thinggy in the pit before throwing the trays away... then Jia huey got a little cut on her hand while keeping the trays aside... then after clearing all the charcoals and trays, we went over to throw the wire gauze away... unfortunately, i got cut by the wire gauze and two went into my finger.. haha! now okie already and no worries!! but only now my typing decrease so much that typing became a chore to me!! haha!!



then debrief and sleep and next day arrived...



Montfort Day 3 (3 Feb)



3rd day started with me seeing Henzy, wei lin and eileen at canteen still discussin the people whom they want to give the awards to... seeing Jovitha helping to move the breakfast into the canteen... thanks jovi for ur help.. i guess i over-shot in sleeping already... haha! sleepy head.... then helped Jovi moved the food into the various food stations that I've assigned for the classes and then Nic came.. Lolx... he came to look around la actually... then had Kern to go around waking people up using a loud hailer... it's really NOISY!!! haha! Luckily I'm not one of the students... Lolx...



started off with breakfast and it was quite a pleasant one... i guess everyone started to feel tired after playing throughout the night and the day... haha! GOOD!! then they went up for their last workshop while I was there counting bedsheets and pillow cases... Thanks to Jaime and Jasmine who came to help me sort out the things!! if not I think I will spend twice the time that we took to sort everything out.. haha! had some time laughing at the students for "lao-nua-ing" and also chatted abit on some of the things and sharing things that we felt for this camp... really appreciate Jaime for listening to me and really sharing things with me... =)



then we all started packing once the students left the campsite and to load things up onto two vehicles... yea... off we go to Montfort Sec and there, we had our debrief and also "prize giving" ceremony... haha! had fun and really enjoyed this camp... though it may be tiring and also blood-shedding, I felt that it definitely worth the time that we put in... both preparing before camp and during the camp.... wanna thanks all the facilitators for helping to keep the groups in order and to help us lighten the load by making sure thet come in in time and stuff... wanna thank Trybe staff for helping out as well though sometimes it's just not their job to do so... haha! really had great fun esp. with Jasmine and Min... haha! LOGISTIC TEAM ROX!!! No logistic, no camp!!! haha!



then took Nic's car to KAP with Kelvin, Saleha and Czarina... had fun joking about the upcoming volunteer camp and giving many funny suggestions for the island hunt.. haha! hope they don't really go and use those ideas... if not I think the island hunt will be the MOST difficult one ever in history!! haha! but really looking forward to it and to bond with more volunteers!!! =)




Okie.. think I've flooded my blog with enough information already... nothing much this few days... will try and update sooN.. haha!
